EasyCert was founded in 2017 by Food Safety Expert, Anne Smith. She wanted to help smaller companies become certified against food standards that would allow them to export their product and broaden their customer base.

EasyCert started in the Rooibos industry but soon expanded to many different products. The products we work with now range from plastic and paper packaging to chocolate and wine! 


We do exactly what our names says - we make certification easy! We help companies of all sizes to create, implement and maintain effective food safety systems.


We specialize in customizing our services to your processes and people. We focus on streamlined and sustainable food safety practices through implementation and coaching. Our services are focused on behavioural science in order to create a culture that drives safe and sustainable practices. 


Creating a food safety system is just the start. The real challenge is to get the system to work for YOU. Luckily, this is a challenge that we love to take on over and over again!

Our Team

Ncediswa Cekiso

I joined EasyCert in 2023 and am currently working as a food safety consultant.


After completing my BSc Food Science degree at Stellenbosch, I became a Quality Assurance Manager.


This position gave me the opportunity to implement and maintain food safety systems as well as customer requirements such as IBL and SGS.


I later continued my career as a Production Manager where I also became an integral member of the Food Safety Team. These positions exposed me to the endless possibilities within the food safety space, which amplified my love for it. 


Furthermore,  I am very enthusiastic about finding solutions and working in multicultural environments. 

Anne Smith

I am a BSc. Food Science graduate from the Univeristy of Stellenbosch. 


I started my career working as a certification manager in the Rooibos industry and eventually moved over to Food Safety and Quality Management in the fresh fruit industry. I have gained experience in numorous food safety certifications, including IFS, FSSC and BRC. Working with our suppliers made me realise that smaller food companies are being left behind due to the lack of food safety systems. 


In 2017 I started Easycert for that exact reason! I wanted to help smaller companies to become certified against food safety standards so they can export their product and broaden their customer base. As a bonus this allowed me to work with multiple products and fully live out my passion for this industry. 


I am also passionate about people and I can now use the EasyCert platform to train and empower staff within the food industry. We equipt them with skills they can use to further their careers or just become empowered in their current positions. 



Jana van Zyl

I joined EasyCert in 2023 and am currently working as a food safety consultant.


I earned a Bachelor of Consumer Sciences degree in Food Product Management with communication from the North-West University (NWU) in Potchefstroom.


The NWU provided me with the opportunity to gain experience in the food industry by completing short internships while studying full-time.


During this time, I worked at a Rooibos processing facility. Here, I was given the opportunity to discover myself within this industry while also broadening my food safety knowledge and strengthening my desire to learn more about what it entails.


I am dedicated to work with people, and I am excited to share the knowledge I gain as well as my passion for food!
